THURSDAY, JULY 11

Bringing over 30+ runway shows and activations by top brands in swimwear and The Paraiso Bungalow, the consumer-driven pop-up double decker overlooking Miami Beach, Paraiso will have something for everyone! Paraiso Miami Beach channels the core values of innovation, originality and discovery through must-see events, imaginative activations, exclusive launches, runway presentations and collaborations in design, music, wellness, art and social media.

Day 1 of Paraiso kicked off with brunch at the Paraiso Bungalow with online retail store, Olivela. Olivela’s curated inventory of designer fashion and beauty brands was made even more striking when you found out that 20% of every purchase goes directly to one of their non-profit partners. The inaugural edition of the Paraiso Upcycle Challenge was created to raise awareness on fashion sustainability by UpCycling dead stock fabrics from international swimwear designers. Five students from across the U.S. were chosen based on sketches submitted to Paraiso and the UpCycle Project in the spring. The student designers were then matched with the five swimwear brands and chronicled mentor sessions, patterns and design on social media. The challenge brought five finalists to present looks to an industry jury to raise awareness on fashion sustainability. Sustainability starts with the designer, they are never going to design swimwear the same way they did before. Taking the crown was Fashion Institute of Technology senior, Hannah Myers, with her microplastic designs.

Fashion and dance came together for the Natasha Tonic x Miami City Ballet School runway show. Not only were the dancers and models showcasing the brand’s eco-friendly certified organic hemp swimwear, but dancers donned the stage for a remarkable compilation.

The evening brought invitees back to the Paraiso Bungalow with luxury Swiss jewelry empire, Chopard. The cocktail reception was followed by the Paraiso Welcome Dinner hosted by Chopard’s, Jean Baptiste-Maillard and Cultured Magazine. With the Miami sun setting in the background, the intimate dinner of 40 gleamed with vibrant conversations, delicious food by Chef Brad Kilgore and a sudden dancefloor party.

FRIDAY, JULY 12

Jet setting influencers, ultimate beach babes, and best friends turned founders of Monday Swimwear, Natasha Oakley and Devin Brugman, kicked off day two of Paraiso Miami Beach with brunch at the Paraiso Bungalow. Collaborating with Australian skincare brand, Dr Roebucks and JNSQ Wines, the Monday Swimwear x Dr Roebucks brunch brought together top influencers and editors for a room of complete vibrancy and beauty.

Monday Swimwear took guests from brunch at the Bungalow to the Paraiso Runway Tent. For the third year in a row, Oakley and Brugman showcased looks that flattered women of all sizes. Monday Swimwear’s show was inclusive, fun and excited the crowd for the rest of the night.

The runway was then transported to the Amazon with Peruvian brand, Aguaclara. The swimwear brought Paraiso Miami Beach sophisticated exoticism, with bold colors and textures. The show and ethically-made collection paid tribute to the Yaguas, indigenous people of Colombia and northeastern Peru.

From the rainforests of Peru, straight to Colombia with Agua Bendita. The collaboration Agua Bendita x Yanbal show caught the eye with their mixture of floral and animal print details, contemporary design and handcrafts. Both the luxury swimwear line and the beauty and jewelry e-comm have the mission of empowering and changing women’s lives.

Taking the crowd to a location off the beaten path was Hawaiian brand, Acacia, that presented its swim and ready-to-wear collection at 1111 Lincoln. Wrapped around the top floor of the iconic parking garage, Acacia brought the crowd back to the Big Island with their clean, laidback, don’t you worry ‘bout a thing swimwear. Showing pint-sized swimwear, the little girls stole the show and the crowd’s hearts.

Luli Fama’s swimwear marched to the beat of the drum, literally. Over at the Paraiso Runway Tent, the show started with a theatrical performance with cultural dancers and drummer to welcome guests to the jungle. It was fierce, sensual and entertaining.

Sinesia Karol took the crowd on a journey from Brazil to Positano, Italy. SUNDAY, JULY 14

Model Georgia Gibbs launched JOY by Georgia Gibbs with a group of industry girlfriends on the beach on Sunday morning for yoga, juice and breaky. Talks on the environment and inclusivity panels continued at the Paraiso Bungalow. Moderated by Valeria Hinojosa, the eco standards + global environment panel inspired the conversation that sustainability will be the future when there is increased awareness amongst consumers about where their clothes are coming from. The Fashion Forward: Inclusivity Panel Discussion moderated by Amy Fraser brought together life coach and influencer Barrett Pall, PopSugar editor Nikita Ramsinghani and influencer Scarlett Hao. This candid conversation touched on brands needing to cater to their audiences, influencers starting to be honest about not only their highlights, but their low reels, and the importance of both body + mental health positivity.

Starting off the last day of runway shows was Poemä Swim with their classy-cool babe vibe and cheeky bikinis. Right after Poemä Swim, the Paraiso Runway Tent took the crowd straight to Chloé Rose Swimwear’s retro, and playful aura, cheekiness included. Paraiso Runway Tent last show was swimwear line Baes and Bikinis.
