PARAISO MIAMI SWIM WEEK WRAPPED UP INAUGURAL YEAR IN JUNE
HOSTING A FUELING SCHEDULE OF OVER 45 RUNWAY SHOWS, EXPERIENCES, AND POP UPS.
PARAISO Miami Swim Week, the world’s largest event for the swimwear and resort wear industry, hosted its highly anticipated new season welcoming over 10,000 guests through the course of the week. Celebrating innovative design, inclusivity, diversity and sustainability, PARAISO Miami Swim Week, hosted a fueling schedule of runway shows including 18 new and veteran labels, in addition to exciting experiences, pop ups, activations, parties, and an industry-focused conference, Summer Fashion Summit.
After bumping up the event dates for the first time in almost two decades, in response to a market shift, PARAISO Miami Swim Week gathered industry professionals, fashion editors, buyers and social media influencers from June 8th to 11th at its re-designed, luxurious tent at Collins Park, right on Miami Beach. PARAISO Miami Swim Week also hosted various pop ups and auxiliary experiences across multiple venues including W South Beach, Soho Beach House, The Plymouth South Beach, Esme Hotel, Queen Miami Beach, Sofia, The Miami Beach EDITION, The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach, Hyde Beach and The Miami Design District.
PARAISO Miami Swim Week party in collaboration with SELECT Models at Sopra Club in Forte dei Marmi kicked off swim week events on Wednesday 8th, followed by four days of thrilling events.
THURSDAY, JUNE 8
Day 1 of PARAISO started with Summer Fashion Summit. This June, for the first time, the inaugural two-day conference celebrated innovative ideas and brought together top national industry players from the field of swimwear, resort wear fashion, and driving forces in sustainability solutions. This intimate summit, held on June 8-9 at W South Beach, consisted of three sessions of panel discussion and masterclasses on each day, exploring current trends across summer fashion, sustainability, marketing and communications, with a lineup of visionary leaders spanning the fields of design, business, publishing, technology, media, and PR.
Stitch Lab pop up returned to Miami Design District to offer an exciting and exclusive opportunity for fashion enthusiasts. In collaboration with Paraiso Swim Week, Stitch Lab presented a hybrid B2B x B2C platform featuring a selection of over 35 Latin American swimwear and resort-wear brands. To kick-off the exciting collaboration, Stitch Lab hosted a cocktail party with light bites, and bubbles. In attendance were some of the community’s top socialites, editors and fashion influencers, including Atenas Hernandez, Claudia Vergara and Anggie Bryan.
alo launched their sneaker line at Reserve, private padel club for selected VIPs and media, with an event named The Next Step. Swimwear brands LainSnow, One One, and Beach Bunny were first to present their upcoming collections at the PARAISO re-designed tent. Another model packed afterparty in collaboration with NEXT Models and Beach Bunny rounded up the perfect first day at Baoli Miami.
FRIDAY, JUNE 9
Day 2 of PARAISO, the official platform of Miami Swim Week was filled with unforgettable experiences. From brunches, pop ups, industry talks, and presentations to runway shows by leading swimwear brands and afterparties. Events were quickly moving from Miami Design District to various locations throughout Miami Beach capturing the spirit of summer and fashion in the most perfect way. Sun Bum media brunch at Pura Vida Sunset Harbour kicked off the day, followed by a fun poolside pop up and presentation at the Plymouth by Miami based brand Rielli. 2023 season of PARAISO Miami Swim Week was officially filled with the parties that kept the fashion going all day. Ganni party was all summer and style with models strutting see-now-buy-now swim and beachwear looks, DJ, and bar that kept the drinks flowing. Elle’s Miami was decadence and luxury exemplified with caviar and boudoir experience. The guest-list was just as exclusive, from fashion editors to VIPs.
Trust us when we say it was just the beginning: Goretty Medina hosted an influencer lunch at Swan with Stitch Lab, PARAISO Up-cycle Challenge in collaboration with Istituto Marangoni Miami named another fabulous winner. Fabiana Polito was mentored by Peixoto to create two looks from brand’s dead stock fabric and won a scholarship prize. Photographer Frederic Pinet presented his series “Poolside” at the Soho Beach House, while Kittenish, Sigal, Sinesia Karol, Chloe Rose at Planet Fashion with No Lonely Hearts performance, and Neena Swim by Oh Polly all had their runway spotlight moment as well.
SATURDAY, JUNE 10
There were two things to celebrate this June, PARAISO Miami Swim Week and surviving it. Going strong into a third day, Australian brand Seafolly kicked off with an experience that completely immersed us in their world. From plates and napkins shipped from Australia just for this occasion, to complete pool takeover, fashion presentation, brunch, cocktails, gifting, welded bracelets, and fresh coconuts - Seafolly had it all!
Reserve, private padel club, hosted another exciting morning game during swim week. Select models and Pura Vida Miami team tested their luck on the court fashionably dressed in alo. Bossa Concept Swim Week Pop Up focused on offering US presence to Latin American emerging and established brands have brought together a curated selection of lifestyle brands from fashion to beauty and home decor to W South Beach. Featured designers included AC Brazil, Adriana Fernandes, BelaSol, Coolrated Miami, Guanine Swim, La Sirene, NativaSpa, Simple Organic, Tania Bulhoes, We.ar4 , and Wish Fine jewelry. Still buzzing on Saturday after its incredible opening day successfully generated continued excitement and interest throughout few days.
The day continued with runway shows, each infused with buzzy energy and attendees rushing from one photo-op to another trying to capture it all. The liveliness of Miami Swim Week was always a thing, but this year everyone was kept at the edge of their seat with the number of must-see shows and events. Inaugural fashion shows marked Saturday at the Paraiso tent. Shan, luxury resort wear and swimwear brand from Montreal showcased their upcoming collection, followed by Curve Expo collective presentation. The largest lingerie trade show with headquarters in Paris presented the newest lingerie trends. Queen Miami Beach and House of Suntory hosted a pre-show cocktail party in honor of The Blonds. A selected group of media and VIPs got to enjoy the food and cocktails at Aiko, private lounge within the restaurant.
Well-loved for its inclusive casting, Matte Collection showcased its newest resort wear line at a star-studded fashion show. The brand crafted a unique experience combining choir music and a runway performance by musician Mannywellz. Club L London, the UK’s leading online fashion retailer known for its contemporary and stylish designs, made a remarkable splash with their first Miami Swim Week show, while Luli Fama left us all craving the beach with their sexy swimsuits, and trendy versatile resort looks. Following the show, Front Management hosted an afterparty at the Byblos to celebrate Kiki Barth and Luli Fama.
SUNDAY, JUNE 11
PARAISO Miami Beach closed with a fabulous final day full of activations, events, and not-to-be-missed runway presentations. The day started with a high-energy Miami Wellness Wake Up by Nike, followed by a Nike Swim poolside collection presentation and recovery party at the Esme.
A.L.C. hosted a media brunch and see now buy now informal fashion show at Sofia in Miami Design District. Strangers Only pool party and pop up at the Soho House Miami was a spot not-to-be-missed on Sunday during the day, as well as Azulu fashion show at the W South Beach. Natasha Tonic, Axil, and The Blonds, hit the runway at the PARAISO tent, each sharing the message of sustainability and inclusivity in their own way.
